As a municipal gallery, Schloss Biesdorf will be showing changing exhibitions from May 2018 with free admission, offering space for events of the most diverse kind - from concerts to guided tours to artist talks to lectures or literary formats. Only 20 minutes from the city center, with "its own" subway and S-Bahn connection, the castle with its municipal gallery takes into account the special urban situation of the district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf, between single-family housing estates and prefabricated buildings. The gallery presents international contemporary art projects with a focus on urban space and shows positions from the former GDR in close cooperation with Kunstarchiv Burg Beeskow. The experience in the castle is complemented by an exhibition on the eventful history and unique architecture of the building. In the historic ambience, Café Schloss Biesdorf will spoil you with delicious homemade cakes and fresh café specialties. A grand piano is available in the intimate concert hall, the large Heino-Schmieden Hall with its 99 seats and contemporary technical equipment is ideally suited for larger formats, the rooftop studio in turn is perfect for smaller workshops, and in the basement there is a workshop room that is used for art education projects. Access to Schloss Biesdorf is barrier-free and the toilets are suitable for wheelchairs. Biesdorf Palace is embedded in a public park. Today's garden monument was designed by the renowned landscape architect Alfred Brodersen in English style with a pond, historic ice cellar, curved paths, wide lawns and a valuable old tree population. In the park, the traditional Biesdorf Park Stage invites visitors to open-air concerts and a varied stage program.
