If you had to illustrate electronic underground, you would almost inevitably think of old factories or warehouses with high ceilings, steel beams flashing out from underneath, walls whose bricks want to tell stories of decades and the remains of old machines, corridors and steel with thick welded seams. When you enter the Sektor in the industrial area in the north of Dresden, you sense that this club is an almost perfect blueprint.
Since 2009, Sektor Evolution has seen itself as an open platform for the local cultural network. At the same time, in this role it is and has been an obligatory stop for national and international artists from various genres of the more or less electronic music world.
As a platform and network hub, this place is characterized and shaped by its guests, artists, collectives and organizers. Part of its philosophy is that every visit should enable a completely new experience of escaping from everyday life. This is expressed in a variety of bookings that also provide a stage for local artists, but also in the constant change of shape of our sacred halls. No two visits are the same. Every time of day or night, every floor, the outdoor area and every visit to the club garden promise completely new impressions.
For the time between weekends, the sector with its own club label offers everything from downtempo to techno to hardtek for your record bag and anticipation for the next visit via your own living room player. The Sektor now releases musical works by local, national and international artists who are close to the club on 5 release lines.
From the very beginning, there have also been frequent escapes from the electronic world. Since 2010, for example, we have been organizing the annual Dresden Art Days with performances and visual art by regional artists. Our rooms also regularly provide a stage for concerts of various genres. It is still important to us to be close to the art, theater and cultural scene and to offer an open door for guests, artists and collectives - always technically sophisticated, humanly uncomplicated, with sufficient distance to commerce. We see ourselves on a journey between constant evolution and rebellious revolution.
The Sektor stands for a club, a label, an attitude to life that is dedicated to electronic music in all its facets.
