Since December 2016, the Staatsoperette Dresden ensemble has been performing at Kraftwerk Mitte - in the center of the city. On the site of the former Kraftwerk Mitte power station, a theater complex was created that ingeniously combines the listed industrial buildings with modern functional buildings. The central location in the city center, the attractive venue and the varied repertoire have been magically attracting audiences ever since.

Opulent operettas, snappy musicals and unique revues bring glitz and glamor to the stage of the Staatsoperette. The versatile ensemble of singers, ballet, choir and orchestra seduces audiences every evening with all the means of art. The extensive repertoire of Dresden's traditional opera house includes popular operetta classics such as "Die Fledermaus", "Casanova", the perennial favorite "Im weißen Rössl" and Joseph Beer's "Polnische Hochzeit". The Staatsoperette also offers a remarkable range of musicals. In addition to Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella", the repertoire also includes the pop musical "Pippin" and "GRIMM! - Die wirklich wahre Geschichte von Rotkäppchen und ihrem Wolf" - a co-production with the tjg. theater junge generation.
