Theater Lüneburg presents over 30 new productions and around 450 performances and events per season at its three venues. Since summer 2024, it has been under the artistic direction of Artistic Director Friedrich von Mansberg. Together with Administrative Director Raphaela Weeke (since July 2021), he is also Managing Director of Theater Lüneburg GmbH.

Theater Lüneburg is the center and anchor of the diverse cultural offerings in the Lüneburg region. It is becoming more mobile, more sustainable, more diverse and more socially engaged. It cooperates with a wide range of institutions and initiatives, including other theaters (and orchestras) in Lower Saxony and beyond.

Theater Lüneburg engages in public debate and involves its audience as well as those who have not (yet) visited the theater.

Theater Lüneburg is characterized by the diversity of its offerings in the three areas of musical theater, drama and dance .

Theater Lüneburg is strengthening its profile and, with the "Akademie Junges Musiktheater", is developing a unique selling point in the Hamburg metropolitan region that is visible beyond the region.
