Good theater for children and young people is good theater for EVERYONE.

When selecting plays, the theater takes into account that childhood and youth are constantly changing. The repertoire is therefore determined by current plays that are specifically designed for certain age groups. The überzwerg - Theater am Kästnerplatz aims to tell exciting, moving and humorous stories that have to do with the lives, dreams and worries of its audience.

Good theater for children and young people is good theater for EVERYONE. The überzwerg - Theater am Kästnerplatz therefore sees itself as a family theater.

The theater continuously promotes authors who write for children and young people. Of the 160 or so productions that have been staged since the theater was founded, over 40 are world premieres (as of September 2021). In addition to promoting authors, the theater also seeks and finds new material by combining it with other forms of theater, such as by developing dance theater pieces for actors.
