DAS VORSTADTTHEATER was founded in 1998. The theater is run by the association Tübinger Puppenbühne e.V. The theater is an independent and self-managed private theater.

The small building was converted from a former French military depot into a permanent venue. With a capacity of 65 seats, it is the smallest and most intimate theater in Tübingen. In addition to performances by the Tübinger Puppenbühne, regular events take place there that cover the entire field of cabaret. Cabaret and variety shows, music performances, jazz workshops, matinees, readings, free theater, artists' meetings, discussions, exhibitions.

The theater is used as a rehearsal stage for theater groups, it sees itself as a springboard for up-and-coming artists, it can be rented for various events, it is open to all theater makers and interested parties, it wants to offer opportunities and activities for everything that keeps a theater alive, so it wants to be a participatory theater.

Theater with a living room atmosphere and proximity to the audience. Bistro service during events. Easily accessible in Südstadt by bus line 4, bus stop Sternplatz.
