The movie theater at Weltecho

The cinema in the Weltecho sees itself as a place that offers film in its many forms a place to dock, including classics of film history, silent films with live music, independent and experimental cinema. To give the concept of cinema a different status than the predominant, easily consumable entertainment (which cinema in the best sense of the word is not). Who has written film history and who will perhaps do so? Who best captured the themes of an era or revolutionized cinema and never became mainstream?
