zakk has been around since 1977, when it was founded under the somewhat unwieldy name Zentrum für Aktion, Kultur und Kommunikation, or zakk for short. Since then, the cultural center in the old factory building in the Flingern district has enriched the lives of many people in Düsseldorf and far beyond with its diverse program. zakk takes up current currents and addresses them, on a political level as well as on a cultural one. zakk offers people space to become active. Maybe even to go on stage. Some become famous. Others are already famous when they perform at zakk. No matter what happens at zakk, whether music, the spoken word, parties, discussions or do-it-yourself activities are on the agenda: zakk is loud and quiet. And it can make you happy.
