Solizentrum
Das Solizentrum wurde 2015 inmitten der großen Fluchtbewegungen nach Deutschland
und Skandinavien gegründet.
Im “Summer of Migration“ 2015 kamen viele Geflüchtete auf ihrem Weg nach
Skandinavien nach Lübeck. Als Transitstadt auf dem Weg nach Skandinavien spielte
Lübeck eine zentrale Rolle – Ab September 2015 kamen jeden Tag hunderte Geflüchtete
am Lübecker Hauptbahnhof an, die nach Skandinavien weiterreisen wollten. Noch am
Bahnhof wurden sie von Übersetzer:innen abgeholt und zum alternativen Zentrum,
WALLI, in der Willy-Brandt-Allee und später zum Solizentrum begleitet.
Viele Menschen aus Lübeck und Umgebung organisierten sich im 24 Stunden
Schichtsystem und leisteten Menschen auf ihrem Weg nach Skandinavien solidarische
Hilfe. Es wurde Essen gekocht, Schlafplätze, Kleidung und medizinische Hilfe organisiert.
Für die neu angekommenen Menschen wurden Fährtickets nach Schweden gebucht und
der Transfer nach Travemünde zu den Fähren organisiert. Teilweise wurden bis zu 300
Personen pro Tag versorgt, aufgenommen und/oder weiterbegleitet.
Da die Räume auf der Walli für die solidarische Hilfe beim Transit jedoch nicht
ausreichten, wurde neben der Walli das städtische Gelände mit zwei fast leeren
Gebäuden besetzt.
Dies war die Geburtsstunde des Solizentrums als Schutz- und Begegnungsort. Über die
Walli und das Solizentrum wurden ca. 15.000 Menschen auf ihrem Weg nach
Skandinavien unterstützt.
Als 2016 die Grenzen nach Skandinavien für Geflüchtete wieder geschlossen wurden und
sich seitdem Deutschland und die EU immer weiter die Abschottungspolitik der EU
verschärft, war allen klar, dass das Solizentrum als Raum für antirassistische und
solidarische Projekte gebraucht wird und das Lübecker Flüchtlingsforum bekam von der
Stadt einen Vertrag für die Nutzung des Solizentrums. Bis heute steht das Solizentrum für
kulturelle und politische Veranstaltungen und Aktivitäten zur Verfügung und es treffen
sich dort verschiedene Gruppen.

Solizentrum
The Solizentrum was founded in 2015 in the midst of the large refugee movements to
Germany and Scandinavia.
During the ‘Summer of Migration’ in 2015, many refugees came to Lübeck on their way
to Scandinavia. As a transit city on the way to Scandinavia, Lübeck played a central
role – from September 2015, hundreds of refugees arrived at Lübeck Central Station
every day to continue their journey to Scandinavia. They were picked up at the station
by translators and accompanied to the alternative centre, WALLI, in Willy-Brandt
Allee and later to the solidarity centre.
Many people from Lübeck and the surrounding area organised themselves in a 24
hour shift system and helped people on their way to Scandinavia in a spirit of
solidarity. Food was cooked, sleeping places, clothing and medical help were
organised. Ferry tickets to Sweden were booked for the newly arrived people and
transfers to the ferries in Travemünde were organised. In some cases, up to 300
people a day were looked after, accommodated and/or accompanied onwards.
However, as the rooms on the Walli were not sufficient for the solidarity-based
assistance during transit, the municipal site next to the Walli was occupied with two
almost empty buildings.
This was the birth of the Solizentrum as a place of protection and meeting. Around
15,000 people were supported on their way to Scandinavia via the Walli and the
solidarity centre.
When the borders to Scandinavia were closed to refugees again in 2016 and since
then Germany and the EU have continued to tighten the EU’s isolationist policy, it was
clear to everyone that the Solizentrum was needed as a space for anti-racist and
solidarity projects and the Lübeck Refugee Forum received a contract from the city
for the use of the Solizentrum. To this day, the Solizentrum is available for cultural
and political events and activities and various groups meet there.

INVITATION:
On Saturday, 6 September 2025, we want to remind you that borders must be
overcome and we want to celebrate the 10th birthday of the Solizentrum with you.
We will meet at 1 pm in front of the main railway station in Lübeck. We will then go to
the solidarity centre as a joint demonstration.
At 2 p.m. a party will begin on the Solizentrum grounds with a buffet, live music,
children’s games and an exhibition on the origins and development of the
Solizentrum.
