Giulio Erratum and The Corrections (Brussels)

‘It’s like riding a 6-legged horse, where sometimes the saddle starts to levitate and leave the animal.’
Felix Kubin

Giulio Erasmus’s music swirls into unintelligible mutterings, songs, and collapsing collages, all  made with the idea of keeping things simple. With heavy delay effects often cut short, metallic percussion, murky vocals, deconstructed electronics, and miniaturist melodies with snippets of the grandiose and the absurdly urban, all tracks here are patient, explorative, and freeform. Through curves of darkness and curves of light, this is a choreography of ideas, a passing infatuation that runs deep. Between alienating and concrete, making the hiss of plugged instruments a central part of it all, Erasmus uses crude field recordings, voice samples, and descriptive and contemplative lyrics to great effect, reversing musical logic as melody and rhythm confusedly spiral around them. Now played as a quintet ! Calamity!

Bella Comsom & Bruna Cabral (Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Cologne)

Bella Comsom is a Brazilian transdisciplinary artist and researcher working at the intersection of sound, technology, and perception. Her work investigates the materiality of sound through conceptual composition and experimental electronics, with a focus on electromagnetic fields. Using custom-built antennas, she transforms the inaudible into immersive auditory experiences across installations, audiovisual works, radio art, and live performance. Bruna Cabral, born in Belém do Pará, Brazil, is a Cologne-based multi-instrumentalist and composer specializing in drums and percussion. Her work spans a wide range of genres in music and performance, contributing to various music, dance, theater, and film projects.

Wolfgang Pérez (Cologne)

just released a beautifully mournful EP called “Memorias Fantasmas” of electronically manipulated sounds from his family archive. These deeply personal pieces all begin with a selection of 1982 recordings of Wolfgang's Spanish family singing and playing music in a church in Segovia, Spain, captured by his grandfather Fernando using a shitty tape recorder. Wolfgang has taken the recordings and chopped and screwed them to produce a haunting EP of melancholy and otherworldly ambience. Wolfgang’s show at Kulturhof Kalk will be a semi-improvised live interpretation of his latest release “Memorias Fantasmas”.
