A WAKE is a new solo work (60 minutes) and memorial service for Amanda Donato’s grandmother with Alzheimer’s disease. Donato’s body shrinks, breaks, dissociates, disintegrates and tangles as it mirrors the rippling complications of grieving the mind of a loved one. The space becomes a surreal and dreamy vacuum, cushioned by the low frequency sound vibrations of an original sound score by Stefanie Egedy.
