Ala Eddine Slim expands his fantastical cinematic universe with his third feature Agora, a police procedural set in a dystopian yet familiar near-future.

Mysterious reappearances of three missing people cause turmoil in a remote Tunisian town. These revenants don’t say much but each of their stories of violent death speaks volumes to the realities of ecological disaster, economic migration, and social alienation in this marginalized provincial community. With noir tones, Slim paints a fable in which the earth is angry, and we all live inside the dreams of a black crow and a blue dog. 

Agora screened in 2024 at the Locarno Film Festival collecting the Pardo Verde jury award, and the Red Sea International Film Festival among others.
