Arkadi Zaides wird für seine Arbeiten zwischen forensischer, dokumentarischer und choreografischer Praxis gefeiert. In seiner Arbeit „The Cloud“ bringt er die bis heute unfassbare Katastrophe von Tschernobyl und ihre todbringende „Wolke“ mit der Cloud neuer künstlicher Intelligenzen zusammen, deren zukünftige Auswirkungen ebenso wenig absehbar und kontrollierbar erscheinen wie seinerzeit die Reaktortechnik. Zaides präsentiert eine fesselnde und intensive Performance, in der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, Fakten und Fake News in einen beunruhigenden Strudel geraten.

Arkadi Zaides is acclaimed for his works that combine forensic, documentary and choreographic practice. In ‘The Cloud’, he unites the still inconceivable disaster of Chernobyl and its fatal cloud with the cloud of new Artificial Intelligence whose future effects appear as unforeseeable and uncontrollable as reactor technology did in the past. Zaides presents a compelling and intense performance, in which past and present, facts and fake news are caught up in an alarming vortex.

IMPULSE FESTIVAL FÜR PERFORMANCE, THEATER & TANZ

An drei langen Festivalwochenenden – je einem in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Köln und Düsseldorf – werden herausragende Produktionen der Freien Szene aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz präsentiert. Dieser Showcase wird ergänzt um Positionen zum Verhältnis von Ost- und Westdeutschland im Rahmen eines „Post-West”-Schwerpunkts sowie um Ansichten aus der und auf die Gastgeber-Region NRW.

Wir freuen uns auf die erste gemeinsame Festivalsaison!

During three long festival weekends – one each in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Cologne and Düsseldorf – outstanding productions from the independent theatre scene from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be presented. This showcase will be complemented by positions on the relationship between East and West Germany as part of a ‘Post-West’ focus as well as views from and on the host region of NRW.
