Buzz’ Ayaz
Fresh Eastern-Mediterranean Psychedelics
[ENG] Hailing from Cyprus’s divided capital Nicosia, and led by Antonis Antoniou the founder of Monsieur Doumani and Trio Tekke, Buzz’ Ayaz creates a transfixing Eastern Mediterranean psychedelia. Their self-titled debut album is a fuzzed-out urban soundscape of dubby electronics, 70s-psych organ, growling bass clarinet, amplified folk instruments, ritual beats and Greek and Anatolian melodicism. The band members come from both sides of the capital’s divide, and the music found on Buzz’ Ayaz is a deliberate attempt to give a voice to the city as a whole. A mercurial sound that echoes above the concrete walls and checkpoints. Their debut album was released in August 2024 via acclaimed German label Glitterbeat Records and it received outstanding criticism from worldwide media, reaching No.1 in the World Music Charts Europe and in the Transglobal World Music Chart.

Gleis 11
[ENG] Gleis 11 is a Munich-based Anatolian psychedelic rock band that makes music covering the period of Turkish guest workers who came to work in Germany. They want to express the journey of these people via psychedelic melodies. Because, Gleis 11 at Munich Central Train Station was the first stop for Turkish guest workers who arrived in Munich. The band consists of the children and grandchildren of the first guest workers in the 1960s and 1970s and new-wave immigrants.
Gleis 11's music combines old Turkish folk and rock music. They blend the old and the new to show how Turkish and German cultures have come together over the years. Through their music, Gleis 11 respects the history of Turkish workers in Germany and also shows a new way of looking at things through their own words and the words from Cem Karaca, Erkin Koray, Barış Manço, and other legendary names of the Anatolian psychedelic rock music. With their songs, Gleis 11 tells the stories of the past while showing the present strongly and excitingly. Their music fuses the time travel of cultures with the psychedelic taste of Anatolian rock music.
