An einem Herbstmorgen im Jahr 1975 verließen 90 Prozent der Frauen Islands ihre Häuser und weigerten sich, weiter zu arbeiten, zu kochen und auf die Kinder aufzupassen. Es war ein Tag, der das Land zum Stillstand brachte und in den „besten Ort der Welt verwandelte, um eine Frau zu sein“. In diesem Film sprechen die Frauen darüber. Mit verspielten Animationen und Musik von Björk untermalt, sind ihre Geschichten subversiv und unerwartet witzig. 

When 90% of the women of Iceland walked off the job and out of their homes one fall morning in 1975, refusing to work, cook, or take care of the children, they brought their country to a standstill and catapulted Iceland to the “best place in the world to be a woman.” Told for the first time by the women themselves, laced with playful animation and music from Björk, the story is subversive and unexpectedly funny.
