Join me for a beautiful summer weekend at MACHart Festival and step into a world of deep, luminous blue — where light, water, and creativity meet. Cyanotype, invented in the 1800s, is one of the oldest photographic processes, known for its rich history and almost magical simplicity. It’s a hands-on, mindful way to slow down and create something unique with your own two hands.
Â
Over two days, I’ll be offering relaxed, hands-on sessions where you’ll create two unique prints to take home. I’ll guide you through the process, from arranging your composition to developing your prints in water. No experience is needed — just curiosity and a love for making.
Â
We’ll begin with my collection of beautiful botanicals, creating delicate, nature-inspired prints in the spirit of Anna Atkins, one of cyanotype’s early pioneers. You’ll see how ordinary leaves and flowers transform into striking blue images with intricate, ghostly detail.
Â
Alongside the botanicals, you’ll also have the chance to experiment with the stencil technique. And as you work, imagine how you could turn your own photographs, drawings, or keepsakes into personal cyanotype prints in rich, signature blue. This process opens up endless creative possibilities.
Â
This is a beautiful way to mark the season — creating tangible, one-of-a-kind pieces you can frame, gift, or treasure. Come let the blue record a moment of your summer in a print you made by hand.
Â
Please note:
The workshop will take place in Room 2.
Sessions will be conducted in English and start every hour.
Only 6 spots per session for a personal, chill vibe.
Â
Thank you — I’d love to see you there! Check out my website to see why I love to host cyanotype workshops, and how it becomes one of my favourite techniques as a multidisciplinary artist.
