Zur Ausstellung ZWEI ANSICHTEN / DREI DIMENSIONEN:

Das Haus Kunst Mitte präsentiert erstmalig die Künstlerin Elke Judith Wagner und den Künstler Frank Dornseif in Berlin gemeinsam als Künstlerpaar. Nach 30 Jahren des Rückzugs aus dem Berliner Kunstbetrieb kehren sie zurück mit Werken aus ihrer gesamten Schaffenszeit. 

Lange machten sie nicht publik, dass sie seit 50 Jahren ein Paar sind, da Elke Wagner ihre Karriere unabhängig von ihrem Mann aufbauen wollte. Die Befürchtung, dass wenn ein Künstlerpaar gemeinsam ausstellt, sich das Private mit dem Öffentlichen vermischt, hat sie bisher davon abgehalten, gemeinsam in Berlin, ihrer Hauptwirkungsstätte, auszustellen. 

Die Ausstellung für das Künstlerpaar Elke Wagner / Frank Dornseif ist die zweite, die das Haus Kunst Mitte dem komplexen wie faszinierenden Thema des Künstlerpaars widmet. Somit ist der Beginn einer Reihe etabliert, die in den kommenden Jahren fortgesetzt wird.

About the exhibition ZWEI ANSICHTEN / DREI DIMENSIONEN:

Haus Kunst Mitte presents the artist Elke Judith Wagner and the artist Frank Dornseif together as an artist couple for the first time in Berlin. After 30 years of withdrawal from the Berlin art scene, they return with works from their entire creative career. 

For a long time, they did not publicise the fact that they had been a couple for 50 years, as Elke Wagner wanted to build her career independently of her husband. The fear that when an artist couple exhibits together, the private and the public become intertwined has so far prevented them from exhibiting together in Berlin, their main centre of activity. 

The exhibition for the artist couple Elke Wagner / Frank Dornseif is the second that Haus Kunst Mitte has dedicated to the complex and fascinating theme of the artist couple. This marks the beginning of a series that will be continued in the coming years.
