Emanuel Seitz (b. 1973, Germany) is based in Munich and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Günther Förg from 1996 to 2002.
His painting practice centers on the fundamental elements of form, color, and composition. Working in a restrained, often monochromatic visual language, he creates abstract works that investigate the dynamic relationship between structure and spatial perception. His process is grounded in meticulous pigment mixing, allowing him to achieve nuanced hues that heighten the presence of form. Seitz’s paintings balance precision and expression, combining geometric order with gestural intervention to explore the materiality of paint and the rhythm of surface. Rather than aligning with Color Field painting, his work is best understood as an ongoing study of how form generates spatial experience.
