Berlin – Tokyo
Peter Keller zeigt in seiner zweiten Fotoausstellung in Berlin zwei neue Projekte – begleitet von der Veröffentlichung zweier Fotobücher.

Uncolored
Das erste Projekt, Uncolored, knüpft an seine letzte Ausstellung von 2020 an. Reduziert, unbearbeitet, körnig – Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie in roher Form. Eine Art visuelles Tagebuch, das die Menschen und Orte zeigt, die seinen Alltag prägen. Ein Großteil seiner Arbeit dreht sich um Skateboarding und die Community drumherum. Von Berlin bis Tokio, ohne großes Setup und ohne Inszenierung. Kamera zücken, abdrücken und hoffen, den Moment einzufangen, bevor er weg ist. Schnell, rau, unperfekt – aber ehrlich. So, wie er die Welt sieht.

TMC Tokyo
Das zweite Projekt, TMC Tokyo, wirft einen Blick auf Tokios legendären TMC-Skatepark in Minato-ku – vermutlich der älteste der Stadt. Fotografiert in Farbe, geht es in dem Buch darum, die unterschiedlichsten Skater:innen, Crews und Styles zu zeigen, die sich hier die Fläche teilen. Manche von ihnen skaten seit Jahren am selben Ort, ohne sich je begegnet zu sein – einfach, weil ihre Tagesabläufe nicht zusammenpassen. Es ist ein bisschen wie ein Blick durchs Vergrößerungsglas auf ein kleines Biotop. Der Park selbst ist schlicht, rau und ziemlich basic – aber voller Leben. Es gibt feste Stammgäste, regelmäßige Besucher:innen aus ganz Tokio und immer wieder auch internationale Skater:innen, die vorbeischauen und ihre Spuren und Einflüsse hinterlassen.

Peter Keller presents two new bodies of work in his second photography exhibition in Berlin, accompanied by the release of two photobooks. 

Uncolored
The Project titled “Uncolored” continues were he left of with his last show in 2020. Stripped-down, unfiltered and grainy black & white photography. A collection of his visual diary, mapping out the places and people that fill his days. Much of Peter Keller’s work revolves around skateboarding and its community. The project stretches from Berlin to Tokyo. There’s no setup, no staging—just point, shoot, and hope to catch something before it disappears. It’s fast, rough, and messy, but it’s real—how he sees the world.

TMC Tokyo
The project “TMC Tokyo” dives into the scene at Tokyo’s legendary TMC skatepark in Minato-ku—likely the oldest skatepark in the city. Shot in color, the idea behind the book was to capture the wide mix of skateboarders, crews, and styles that all share this one spot. Some of them have been skating the same park for years without ever crossing paths—just because of different work hours or routines. It’s kind of like putting a magnifying glass on a little ecosystem. In this case, a rough, bare-bones skatepark that’s simple but full of life. Regulars show up day after day, while visitors from across Tokyo—and sometimes from abroad—drop in to leave their mark.
