About the exhibition FOUNDATIONS - 15 international perspectives:

The group exhibition FOUNDATIONS brings together works by 15 international artists. Painting, photography, sculpture, video, mixed media and installations are on display. African-diasporic and African-American positions are emphasised in order to create space for inclusive perspectives on conceptual peculiarities in content, medium and genre and for an examination of different perspectives.

The FOUNDATIONS exhibition focuses on the basic building blocks of life and how life is created, perceived and vital. Some works deal with the development of social concepts such as human rights or the significance of individual and collective history, which are reflected in adult life as a result of childhood experiences. Other works emphasise the cross-generational impact of colonial history. Other objects emphasise the influence of art history and traditional art forms on contemporary positions. The significance of biological, social and cultural ecosystems and the impact of the smallest changes in our shared global, cultural, economic, political and ecological systems will also be examined.
