Der bundesweite FESTIVALFRIENDS-Verbund lädt Festivalteams und Interessierte auf der KONFRIENDS 2025 ein, praktische Fragen des Festival-Machens gemeinsam zu bearbeiten – diesmal mit Fokus auf unser Publikum.

Wie konzipieren und realisieren wir Festivals als Veranstaltungsform, in der aus Kunst und Debatte Begegnungsräume entstehen? Wie kombinieren wir Öffnung und Schutzräume, und wie laden wir neue Zuschauer*innengruppen erfolgreich ein? Mit Blick auf lauter werdende Angriffe auf Demokratie und Kunstfreiheit erörtert die KONFRIENDS 2025 unter dem Motto FRIENDS ONLY?“ dies mit Impulsen aus Festivalpraxis, Forschung und im Gespräch mit Kulturpolitik und Verwaltung.

The national FESTIVALFRIENDS network invites festival teams and others with an interest to discuss practical issues of festival making at KONFRIENDS 2025 – this time focussing on our audience.

How do we conceive and realise festivals as an event form in which art and debate create spaces for people to meet? How do we combine open and protective spaces, and how do we successfully invite new audience groups to participate? With an eye to the ever-louder attacks on democracy and artistic freedom, KONFRIENDS 2025 - entitled ‘FRIENDS ONLY?’ – examines this with input from festival practitioners and scholars, and discussions with cultural policymakers and administrators.

IMPULSE FESTIVAL FÜR PERFORMANCE, THEATER & TANZ

An drei langen Festivalwochenenden – je einem in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Köln und Düsseldorf – werden herausragende Produktionen der Freien Szene aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz präsentiert. Dieser Showcase wird ergänzt um Positionen zum Verhältnis von Ost- und Westdeutschland im Rahmen eines „Post-West”-Schwerpunkts sowie um Ansichten aus der und auf die Gastgeber-Region NRW.

Wir freuen uns auf die erste gemeinsame Festivalsaison!

During three long festival weekends – one each in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Cologne and Düsseldorf – outstanding productions from the independent theatre scene from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be presented. This showcase will be complemented by positions on the relationship between East and West Germany as part of a ‘Post-West’ focus as well as views from and on the host region of NRW.
