In this group exhibition, five artists and designers explore the idea of hybrids—blending different life forms, ideas, and materials to create evocative and unexpected works.
Hybridity is often built into the artistic process itself: working with collage or mixed techniques means layering textures, images, and ideas from different worlds to form intriguing combinations. From humorous fish with human anxieties to mixed media works that resist neatly fitting into a box, these hybrids invite you to consider how everything is connected, and how merging things—whether ideas, species, or techniques—can open up new ways of seeing the world.

ARTISTS & DESIGNERS
Vera Bekema draws comics about jealous lemons, parasitic cucumbers, chicken peanuts and various fish who try to live their lives despite everything in a world dominated by textures and patterns.
Esther Mann is a communication designer with a passion for colours and materials. To realise her ideas, she likes to use traditional craft techniques such as hand screen printing and embroidery on natural materials.
María Rodrigo is the designer behind EME Clothing, a brand that merges its collections with vintage clothing and accessories to create a distinctive fusion. Beyond aesthetics, at EME Clothing we are committed to functional fashion. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to combine style and practicality.
Esther Samuels-Davis is a U.S. born illustrator and author currently living in Berlin. Using mainly mechanical pencil and colored pencil, Esther’s work explores the emotional relationships that lie under, around and all throughout our natural world.
Joanna Simson is an artist working with collage, text based art, illustrations, videos and projections. A recurring theme in her art is a will to open-mindedness and a blurring of boundaries. One thing can become another thing.
