Als Symbol des Anti-Apartheid-Kampfes ist der hochenergetische Tanz Pantsula bis heute in verschiedenen Gemeinden in Südafrika Teil des kulturellen Lebens und verkörpert die Kühnheit der Jugend weltweit. Impilo Mapantsula bringen am Samstag den Ebertplatz mit virtuosen Pantsula-Schritten zum Vibrieren: Mitten im samstäglichen Großstadt-Trubel versprühen die Tänzer*innen jede Menge Energie und einen Hauch von Freiheit und Widerstand.

As a symbol of the anti-apartheid struggle, the high-energy Pantsula dance is still part of cultural life in various communities in South Africa and epitomises the boldness of young people worldwide. Impilo Mapantsula will make the Ebertplatz vibrate with virtuoso Pantsula steps on Saturday: In the midst of the Saturday hustle and bustle of the city, the dancers will radiate plenty of energy and a touch of freedom and resistance.

IMPULSE FESTIVAL FÜR PERFORMANCE, THEATER & TANZ

An drei langen Festivalwochenenden – je einem in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Köln und Düsseldorf – werden herausragende Produktionen der Freien Szene aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz präsentiert. Dieser Showcase wird ergänzt um Positionen zum Verhältnis von Ost- und Westdeutschland im Rahmen eines Post-West-Schwerpunkts sowie um Ansichten aus der und auf die Gastgeber-Region NRW.

Wir freuen uns auf die erste gemeinsame Festivalsaison!

During three long festival weekends – one each in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Cologne and Düsseldorf – outstanding productions from the independent theatre scene from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be presented. This showcase will be complemented by positions on the relationship between East and West Germany as part of a Post-West focus as well as views from and on the host region of NRW.
