Ein Familienroman aus der Musikwelt: Kriegt man Kunst und Kinder zusammen?

David ist verstrickt im Geflecht aus Kunst, Kindern und Kreativität. Als Musikmanager muss er alle Forderungen des drogensüchtigen Weltstars Ian White erfüllen und dessen Tour begleiten. Er will sich aber auch um seine vier Kinder kümmern und nimmt sie einfach mit. Die Ausgangslage für dramatische Konflikte, die zu absurd-komischen Situationen führen. David retten oft nur Humor und das Gespür für die erstaunliche Ähnlichkeit der Bedürfnisse von Künstlern und Kindern. Trotzdem lauert die Eskalation.

Johann Scheerer, geboren 1982, gründete mit fünfzehn Jahren seine erste Band, nahm mit »Score!« 1999 sein erstes Album auf und ging auf Deutschlandtour. Nach dem Abitur bekam er einen Plattenvertrag für sein Soloprojekt »Karamel« und gründete 2003 das Tonstudio »Rekordbox«. Seit 2005 betreibt er das Tonstudio »Clouds Hill Recordings« mit angeschlossenem Label und Musikverlag „Clouds Hill“.
Johann Scheerer arbeitet als Musikproduzent mit international renommierten Musikerinnen und Musikern wie Omar Rodríguez-López, At the Drive-In, Wolf Biermann und Peter Doherty. Zuletzt produzierte er The Mars Volta.
2018 erschien sein hochgelobter erster Roman »Wir sind dann wohl die Angehörigen«, 2021 der ebenfalls hochgelobte Coming-of-Age-Roman »Unheimlich nah«.  Sein neuer Roman „Play“ erscheint am 03.04.2025.

Thijs van der Meulen

Thijs van der Meulen (31) is a songwriter and musician from The Veluwe, Netherlands. As the driving force behind the music project Roofman, Thijs creates songs that blend his love for melody and lyrics with a down-to-earth, raw energy. With a background in guitar and piano, as well as a range of other instruments, he has an easygoing approach to songwriting, often churning out tracks with little effort.

His music is marked by a mix of simplicity and depth, ranging from acoustic and intimate vibes to more electronic influences. Under the Roofman moniker, Thijs captures the essence of his personal experiences and his rural upbringing, channeling them into songs that are both relatable and memorable.
