The Off-road Collective invites you on an immersive dance journey that blurs the boundaries between the onscreen and offscreen world.
“Once Upon a Time” unpacks the archetypes, stereotypes, and cliches displayed in media with a strong focus on the concept of gender. We seek to analyze the complexities of character tropes, questioning how they are upheld, and perpetrated in culture and their impact on everyday life. As a result, we offer a nuanced perspective showcasing multilayered characters that aren’t confined to binary depictions of gender.
This mixed media performance-exhibition is a multidisciplinary, multi-sensory experience with strong visuals, dynamic choreography, and a touch of humor.
We will be providing materials for a collage station and other interactive activities. This event is open to anyone with an interest in visual arts, dance, music, media, and everything in between.
The Off-road Collective is an experimental contemporary dance collective of international emerging dancers, choreographers, and artists based in Berlin. It was founded by the desire to build a community and a safe space for multifaceted artists to collaborate, perform, research, and most importantly share ideas with each other and the public.
We are a small self-funded FLINTA cast and crew, and appreciate anyone who shows up or shares our event to help us reach a wider audience. Donations are highly appreciated!
