What’s the story at Quarterbrain’s song „Mother Earth“?: „The whole world is upside down but Mother Earth is turning round and round. It‘ always been like this – in times of unicells and also in times of dynosaurs“ …and specially in times of that weired virus called Covid 19. It’s never been more required to use the little time that there is left for us on this planet and to do something meaningfull with all your might. Why not starting a band and take the world by storm? Unfortunately this plan starts growing while the world is paralysed by a virus, in a moment where the protagonists are no longer the youngest and player number 4 on guitar and vocals has searched far away. All that remains is to make the best of it, rewrite the set to fit with three musicians and hope for better times. Quarterbrain from Berlin did exactly this. Supposable the oldest newcomer Band in Rockmusic, they did record an album within the last 18 month, they already wrote some more songs, they were convincing on stage (not at least as supporting act for the Canadien Metal Legends Anvil). Not only die hard Metal Heads where excited but also numerous clueless passerbys while playing e.g. on Fête de la musique. From an artistic point of view the three experienced artists just started to develop their music. Their eclectic mix of Prog and Psychedelic, Metal and Hard Rock, Independent and that nowadays”Rock ‘n’ Roll will never die” Stil is difficult to grasp and always provides positive surprises. And all this is delivered with a punk attitude and an enthusiasm as if the three just left their teenage riot years. The whole world is upside down? – Best conditions to see the energetic show from Quarterbrain from Berlin and dance it back to normal.
