Book reading and conversation: The Home I Worked to Make: Voices from the New Syrian Diaspora

The Home I Worked to Make: Voices from the New Syrian Diaspora is a tapestry of testimonials that begins with stories of leaving Syria and follows refugees’ journeys around the world as they reflect on losing home, searching for home, and rethinking the meaning of home. A follow-up to her award-winning book We Crossed A Bridge and It Trembled: Voices from Syria, this new interview collection provides a human window into one of the most inspiring liberation struggles of our times, as well as broader lessons about identity, migration, and belonging.

Author's short biography: Wendy Pearlman is a professor of political science at Northwestern University near Chicago and the author of six books on Middle East politics and society.
