Realms Beyond Borders is a benefit jazz concert raising funds for earthquake relief in Myanmar. Developed as a research project by SRH Heidelberg’s Faculty of Therapeutic Sciences, this performance is an artistic exploration of the space between jazz composition, music therapy, and Theravada Buddhism, where improvisation, intercultural dialogue, and mindful presence converge as part of the process. Over the past year, renowned artists from Myanmar, Germany, Australia, Iran, Thailand, Ukraine, and the USA have been co-composing deeply personal pieces that reflect the Buddhist realms of suffering, desire, awareness, and transcendence, seen through the lens of contemporary life across cultures. With long-time support from Enjoy Jazz, the Myanmar Jazz Club brings its spirit of resilience to Germany in one of its most ambitious yet intimate performances to date. Curious about where jazz, music therapy, and Buddhism intersect? Come experience it at Realms Beyond Borders.
