Resonant Spaces

Gruppenausstellung im Kunstraum Potsdamer Straße

Räume verschwinden - Kulturräume, Räume des Austausches, Safer Spaces oder Wohnräume. Gleichzeitig entstehen neue Räume: Sie werden erkämpft, gestaltet, angeeignet und transformiert. Im Rahmen von „Resonant Spaces“ erkunden zehn Künstler*innen Dynamiken von Verdrängung und Aneignung.

Die Positionen befassen sich unter anderem mit dem Verschwinden physischer Orte und den damit verbundenen Erinnerungen. Einige untersuchen kapitalistische Mechanismen und staatliche Repression. Andere analysieren, wie Gender und Sexualität soziale Räume prägen und wer Zugang zu ihnen hat. Nicht zuletzt entstehen solidarische, gemeinschaftliche Gegenentwürfe.

Die künstlerischen Arbeiten greifen auf ein breites Spektrum medialer Ausdrucksformen zurück – von raumgreifenden Installationen über Malerei, Performance und Fotografie bis hin zum Film.

Am Freitag um 20 Uhr und am Samstag um 17 Uhr findet eine künstlerische Performance von Alexey Khokhanov statt. Am Samstag um 19 Uhr wird eine musikalische Performance von Dune stattfinden. 

Resonant Spaces

Spaces are disappearing - cultural spaces, spaces of exchange, safer spaces and living spaces. At the same time, new spaces are being created: they are being fought for, shaped, appropriated and transformed. As part of ‘Resonant Spaces’, ten artists explore the dynamics of displacement and appropriation.

The positions deal, among other things, with the disappearance of physical places and the memories associated with them. Some examine capitalist mechanisms and state repression. Others analyse how gender and sexuality shape social spaces and who has access to them. Last but not least, solidary and community-based alternatives are being developed.

The artistic works draw on a broad spectrum of media forms of expression - from expansive installations to painting, performance, photography and film.

On Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m., Alexey Kokhanov is gonna hold a performance. On Saturday at 7 p.m., there's gonna be a musical performance by Dune.
