_________
Schneider TM + Schroetyschroet
Schneider TM is a multidimensional music project by Dirk Dresselhaus that oscillates extensively between experimental electronic avant-pop and rather abstract and improvisational material, occasionally bringing these and other seemingly opposing elements together. Solo or as a group, Schneider TM has performed a couple of hundred live concerts around the globe, including renowned international festivals like CTM (Berlin), Sonar (Barcelona, Rome, Tokyo), Mutek (Montreal, Mexico City), Roskilde Festival (DK), and many others. Dirk works regularly in the field of film music, radio plays, (performance) theater, contemporary dance, and general studio production and is a member of diverse experimental groups like faust (w/ Zappi W. Diermaier & members of Einstürzende Neubauten), die ANGEL (w/ Pan Sonic’s Ilpo Väisänen & guests), Locust Fudge, Feedbackorchester, and the improv noise band krautfuzz as well as other, rather open music collectives.
For this session at Sanctum of Sound Dirk plays along with Schroetyschroet, sound & rhythm specialist and resident of MaHalla.
pause.dxa
pause.dxa is an experimental sound and music experience project founded by Sahitya and Harsh based in Auroville, India. Starting as a sound immersion project in January 2023, pause.dxa has evolved into an exploration of how to experience sound and music, pushing the boundaries of traditional and electronic elements.
Going back to their respective roots, they bring together Dhrupad vocal improvisation along with electronically synthesized soundscapes with drones, modular synthesis, field recordings and more.
Their performance at Sanctum of Sound holds improvisation at its core and invites listeners to journey in a sonic space inspired by the 5 elements; Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space moving through different states, some known and some unknown.
viktor sloth
Shaped by Denmark’s grey skies and soft silences, viktor sloth is an artistic chameleon navigating the space between sound and image. His work drifts between ambient textures and warm, minimal grooves. Merging vinyl, instruments, and digital tools into hypnotic soundscapes. With a camera in one hand and a record bag in the other, viktor has gathered inspiration across continents, letting global rhythms and aesthetics seep into every mix and visual fragment. His world is a seamless interplay of analog and digital, where sonic atmospheres and visual moods dissolve into infinity.
majó rika
majó rika is a polish born artist with roots in painting, theater and contemporary dance, now working in sound art, community-based art projects, interventions in public space, and music.
majó investigates the relationship between sound, space, and materiality through installations, interventions, and performances. Drawing on deep listening practices and research-based inquiry, rika’s work explores sound as both a meditative and analytical subject. The integration of natural materials, everyday objects, and spatial sound experiments results in immersive experiences.
She is a co-founder of the sonic ecology art and research duo r.o.a.r. and the sound art group META and is part of the kollektiv eigenklang.
For Sanctum of Sound majó prepares to travel through transformative processes recorded in her memory. Fragments of life are woven into a sonic journey—live-composed through the play of materials, object manipulation, and voice. Using installation, performance, and looping, majó seeks to recall moments of release, change, and calm—inviting connection and gently soothing inner unrest.
The Four
For each Sanctum of Sound, Music Ashram puts together a 4-piece formation of guest musicians and members of the Ashram. Music Ashram is the brand ensemble from MaHalla, where the intention of Sanctum of Sound meets the current explorations of the Cultural Center. Acousmatic Sounds, experimental beats, traditions, instruments and worldwide performing techniques are expressed through the unique essence of Music Ashram.
