SLM Son System is an avant‑electronic improvisation trio born in Berlin in 2025. Bringing together three visionary artists — Chica Paula aka Paula Schopf, Max Loderbauer, and Scott Monteith aka Deadbeat — the group explores the meeting point of modular synthesis, dub‑inflected rhythms, and spontaneous live sound.

SLM Son System performs live electronic improvisations combining Paula’s groove and DJ sensibility, Loderbauer’s richly textured modular environments, and Monteith’s dub‑reverse rhythms and sound‑design precision. Each performance unfolds in real time — no pre‑recorded layers — with an emphasis on interaction, unpredictability, and deep listening. Rooted in Berlin’s experimental music lineage, SLM Son System crafts immersive performances that sit at the intersection of ambient, dub, minimal techno, and free improvisation.

Paula Schopf, known as Chica Paula, is a Chilean‑born, Berlin‑based producer and DJ whose career spans over two decades. She released her debut album 42 mädchen in 2003 on Monika Enterprise under the alias “Chica and the Folder,” co‑produced with Max Loderbauer. Her work is grounded in experimental electronica, often merging groove‑driven dance energy with ambient textures 

Max Loderbauer, a veteran of Sun Electric and the Moritz von Oswald Trio, is celebrated for his subtle, evolving soundscapes created through Buchla modular synths, Haken fingerboard, and Kyma systems. His solo albums—including Transparenz (2013), Donnerwetter (2020), Greyland (2016), and Petrichor (2022)—reveal an artist deeply committed to improvised sonic journeys 

Scott Monteith, performing as Deadbeat, is a Berlin‑based Canadian musician whose dub‑infused minimal electronic landscapes reflect years in Montreal’s scene. His extensive discography includes more than ten studio albums since the early 2000s, blending crackling percussive textures with political and conceptual depth
