'The Root' of Sonic Interventions, was a weekly jam session called 'moving the elements', later named 'sonic interventions', that took hold in the parks of Berlin in 2020. Since, the group has hosted dozens of sessions, recorded podcasts, performed at XJAZZ, Überjazz, Le Guess Who?, Jazz Montez, toured Ivory Coast and Ghana in West Africa, and released their debut album 'Do You Remember?' on AGOGO records.
Now in 2025, as they receive three nominations for the Deutscher Jazzpreis, Sonic returns to their beginnings in order to focus on the spirit of improvisation and listening, in community. What better place than Block1, the new venue inside the very building where 'Do You Remember?' was mixed.
Like in the old days, bring your expression, dance, poetry, fire spinning, instruments and an ear for one another. The band will help to guide the session and inclusively share priority with African, Asian, and South American instruments whenever present.
