The Iridescent Dragonfly: Beads and Sequins Embroidery in Leipzig

Das sagt der/die Veranstalter:in:

In this workshop, you’ll explore the basics of beads and sequins embroidery through a delicate dragonfly design. You’ll learn how to attach different materials securely and create shimmering textures that can be applied to future projects.

What you'll learn:

  • How to attach sequins, bugle beads, and seed beads
  • How to mix materials to create three-dimensional elements
  • How to combine colors to make your designs stand out
  • What materials to buy for your future bead embroidery projects

Workshop structure:
We’ll begin by getting to know the different types of materials: sequins, bugle beads, and seed beads, exploring their shapes, finishes, and uses. Then, we'll practice basic stitches to understand how each behaves on fabric.

Afterwards, you’ll work on your dragonfly design. The pattern is fixed, but you’ll be free to personalize the color combinations as you go. I’ll suggest color palettes that work well, but you’re welcome to experiment and make it your own.

What’s included:

  • A complete embroidery kit: hoop, fabric, needle, thread, sequins & beads
  • An online manual to revisit techniques anytime
  • Tea, snacks, and a relaxed creative atmosphere
  • Your embroidered dragonfly (or work-in-progress) to take home

Important:
Each person works at their own pace, and while at some point I might gently encourage you to move forward so we can cover everything, the main goal is for you to relax, enjoy the process, and create something beautiful in your own time. It’s completely fine if you don’t finish your dragonfly during the session — you’ll have everything you need in your kit, plus the online manual, to complete it comfortably at home.

No previous experience is needed.
