-VOICES UNCHAINED- an exhibition as a sign against the death penalty.
May 18-23, 2025 at @pandora_gallery_kreuzberg (free admission, donation basis) i organize an exhibition with artworks and texts by artists who have been sentenced to death in the United States.
The works tell of life on death row, of fear,innocence, hope, isolation, but also of dignity and humanity.
It is of great importance to raise awareness of the death penalty and to give a voice and space to the people who are fighting for their life everyday. They are at risk of being executed by the state at any time.
On May 18, there will be an opening from 6pm to 11pm with a reading. Special guest @jenssoering will talk about innocence and the american justice system, and I will also introduce the @initiative_gegen_todesstrafe . At a time when human rights are under pressure globally and the number of executions is on the rise, it is more important than ever to actively do something to remind people of our shared responsibility and ensure that these voices and human beings are not lost and are heard through art, exchange and engagement. This is To inspire more people to take action and stand up against the death penalty.
