Led by a Berlin based experimental composer and saxophonist, Grgur Savic – Vortex is a group of four divine musical humans, performing original written compositions, embracing the freedom, melodic power, harmonious joy and spirit, engaging the empathy and compassion for people and society. Vortex is releasing their first debut album (Vinyl and Digital) this year in June 2023 for a Berlin based record label AUT RECORDS, a project founded by Davide Lorenzon and currently directed by him, joined on the visual side by artists like Sandro Crisafi, Nicola Guazzaloca and Roberto La Forgia. His first debut features Grgur’s original composed pieces fused together as a crossover intermix feauturing solo, duo and collective free improvised tracks.

 

 

Grgur Savic is a Berlin based experimental composer—saxophonist, sound artist and improviser. Creating through numerous different sound and written mediums and technologies such as traditional and graphic scoring, feedback in electronics and live performance. Grgur is working largely in different electro-acoustic environments and collaborating with other artist mostly musicians with contemporary approach. Since moving to Berlin in 2015, he actively performs and records his main projects: Pitch Shifting, Ensemble The F:ORM, Vortex and S.T.B.

Brad Henkel is a trumpeter and composer from the United States currently based in Berlin, Germany. With a primary focus on improvisation, using a broad color palette of pitched and unpitched sounds, he creates and participates in music which is rooted in the Jazz, Contemporary Classical, and Echtzeitmusik traditions. He is a member of KIM Collective.

Ivar Roban Križić (*1990), Zagreb. MA in Double Bass at the Jazz Department in Graz, soloist and sideman active in a wide variety of international projects ranging from contemporary jazz to experimental music. Currently pursuing an Artistic Research Doctorate at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with research into new possibilities of sound production on the double bass and their application in the context of free improvised music. The theoretical framework of the research project deals with the notions of flow and perception, and the ways in which improvisers apply these concepts in action.

Matheus Jardim is a drummer/percussionist that started his musical studies with his father, the multi-instrumentalist Antonio de Padua at the age of 11. He began with his professional career at the age of 12 playing and recording with local musicians. In 2013 he moved to Graz (Austria) to study drums on jazz department in “KUG” (Kunst Universitat Graz) with prof. Howard Curtis. Since 2015 he is living in Vienna where he is active in the local music scene and participates in numerous projects with different artists (Gerald Preinfalk, Georg Vogel, Alegre Correa, Michael Pipoquinha, Gabriel Grossi, Misha Piatigorsky, Daniel Holzleitner, Jatobà Big Band, etc). In 2019 he toured and recorded with the great trombone legend Raul de Souza.
