Pia Graf an artist and a graduate of the Offenbach University of Art and Design, currently living and working in Berlin. Inspired by 1930’s rubber hose animation and various international pop influences, her work is often dedicated to themes such as social and psychological dynamics, gender, sexuality, and environment. Incorporating elements of the grotesque and the absurd, Pia’s creations exist in a space between fantasy and reality, often portraying non-gendered figures and surreal narratives.

Pia works across various media, with a particular focus on 2D frame-by-frame animation. Her projects frequently manifest in the form of immersive installations, drawing viewers into surreal and captivating environments. These installations sometimes include sculptural elements that enhance the experience, blurring the lines between digital and physical spaces.

Pia’s creative process typically begins with hand-drawn sketches, using markers on paper or alternative materials like acrylics. Her animation practice is experimental, blending analog and digital techniques.
Over the years, she has built a portfolio of collaborations with international clients, including Acne Studios, Youtube and musicians like Toro Y Moi.
