TRADITION AND CREATIVE FORMS OF EXPRESSION IN BURKINA FASO
Based on the research project "Religious diversity and traditions in Burkina Faso: historical and current challenges (DivTrad BF)" (2021-2025)
The exhibition is dedicated to the question of what tradition and traditional religion mean in Burkina Faso today. These debates are anything but closed - on the contrary: in a society characterized by religious diversity, which is also under pressure from the Sahel crisis, they are more topical than ever.
The research project takes a critical look at the historical and current challenges of so-called "traditions" in the country's social fabric.
The exhibition focuses on tradition, creativity and artistic creation in Burkina Faso - an exciting interplay of past and present, of everyday life and artistic reflection. On display are
The exhibition is complemented by a supporting program with a reading and musical narrative performance by the storyteller KPG, staged under the title: "Sooré - the path".
This story is deeply rooted in the world view and philosophy of the Bugba. It is dedicated in particular to their myth of origin and the winding paths of human existence.
