Slam To Ride

In the organizer's words:

Experience poetry slam from a whole new perspective. Listen to slam texts from the best poets in the capital from your bike. Our comfortable wireless headphones ensure that you hear every word. And of course, we're not just doing this anywhere, but on the runway of the former Tegel Airport. Welcome to the Slam Ro Ride!

Info:

The majority of the event takes place on a bicycle.

The meeting point is directly at the bus stop "Urban Tech Republic". Please be on time, latecomers can NOT participate in the tour.

Stamina:

The route covers approx. 6 km. A basic level of fitness is required, especially if you come with rollerblades / roller skates. However, we will take a short break in the middle. E-bikes/scooters should still have at least this range of battery capacity. We ride at approx. 11 km/h.

Fitness to ride:

You should be able to ride a bike or similar safely and the means of transportation should be roadworthy. A bike breakdown during the tour should be avoided at all costs, as it ties up safety personnel.

Weather:

It can get quite hot on the runway when it is sunny. Check the weather in advance and prepare accordingly. In case of rain, we will decide depending on the situation. If it rains continuously, we will cancel the event.

Children:

Children can only participate if they are driven (e.g. cargo bike)

THE AREA IS PARTLY A RESTRICTED MILITARY AREA. THE GROUP MAY NOT LEAVE THE AREA AT ANY TIME. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO STAY OFF THE PAVED PATHS.

Miscellaneous:

Safety vests are compulsory. Please bring one with you. Unfortunately, access is not permitted without a vest. Write to us if you need one. We have a few on site.

Helmets are not compulsory.
